View this transporting and inspiring exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Internationally acclaimed artist, beloved Art League Instructor, and Sargent-o-phile, Robert Liberace.

This exhibit of works from the MET's collection features watercolors, drawings, and sketchbooks by 18 American artists who traveled to and were inspired by Italy from the late 18th to the early 20th century. Among the best known will be John Singleton Copley, Thomas Sully, George Inness, James McNeill Whistler, Maurice Prendergast, and John Singer Sargent. Sargent, who was born in Italy and maintained a lifelong interest in the country's art and scenery, will be represented by 10 works, including an early scrapbook never before shown at The Met.

The Splendor of Greece with Thanasi Papapostolou
June 20-27, 2018

Join Greek-American artist Thanasi Papapostolou for a painting and sketching workshop in the picturesque town of Naoussa in Northern Greece. Students may draw and/or paint atmospheric ancient sites, picturesque towns and awe-inspiring landscapes. Experience wonderful Greek hospitality in this wine growing region, learn about Greek contemporary art, and receive personalized instruction, in the land of Pheidias, Praxtheles, and El Greco. Our travel workshops are designed by artists for artists. They enable the working artist or art appreciator to get out of the studio and out into the world, to see and experience some of the most beautiful and intriguing locations in our environs.

Past destinations
have included Ethiopia, the Bahamas, Provence, Paris, Edinburgh, Barcelona, and London, as well as shorter trips to local destinations like Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and Solomons Island, Maryland.
