Tickets ($175 each) for the 2012 Patrons' Show go on sale Saturday, January 14 at 10:00 am in The Art League Gallery. Limit 10 tickets per person on ticket sales day. In-person ticket orders take priority over faxed-in orders. Faxed-in orders may be sent in beginning January 14 at 1:00 pm and no earlier!! Faxes will be processed in the order in which they are received. If faxes are sent in prior to 1:00 pm on January 14, they will go to the bottom of the fax list.

To make the event safer and more enjoyable for everyone, we are once again providing reserved seating for the Patrons’ Show. You will select your preferred seating area after you purchase your ticket. Tickets will be stamped indicating your seat reservation. The floor will be taped, designating each seating area. Each ticket holder will be assigned one seat. Seating for non-ticket holders may be purchased for an additional $25. To give priority to Patrons’ Show ticket holders, seating for non-ticket holders is limited to one additional seat per ticket, available on a first come first serve basis. The Art League will feature a special exhibit of photographs taken by this year’s SOHO (Space of Her Own) class from January 28-February 6, 2012.

After a basic photography workshop with Art League instructor Allison Duvall, each girl was given a point and shoot camera, a roll of black and white film, and tasked with taking photos of the people, places, and things most significant to them.

The images taken were used as a catalyst to write stories about their lives. They went into the darkroom to develop the image that held the most significance to them, and then wrote an accompanying statement or story to go along with their photograph.

The show provides an inside look into the world of these girls, and an opportunity for viewers to see how the SOHO outreach program positively impacts the lives of these girls and the Alexandria community.

Registration for spring term classes at The Art League School begins at 9:30am, Monday, February 6. The term starts April 9.
