This is a general pottery/ceramics course designed for creative exploration. A variety of construction techniques will be demonstrated including hand building, sculptural pursuits and the potters’ wheel. Support and encouragement of finding your voice in clay will be emphasized you will be exposed to various decorating and glazing techniques as well varied types of firing. Enabling the refinement of your skill set and expansion of your vocabulary will be an activity for all to share. This course is suitable for the beginner as well as the intermediate potter.

The Art League Ceramics program boasts large, bright and well equipped studios. We provide open studio time for students to practice and expand their skillset outside of class.

The Ceramics program glaze fires at cone six, both electric oxidation as well as gas reduction. Specialty firings such as Raku are offered in weekend workshop form as well as occasional technique focused classes.
