Abstract Painting (Oil or Acrylic)

Instructor: Bryan Jernigan

No class on July 26.

If you have taken Bryan Jernigan’s abstract painting class before or you have abstract painting experience, this advanced class will allow you to explore abstraction more deeply. You’ll forgo the basics, work independently, consult with Jernigan on approaches to accomplish the work you have in mind and get direct feedback on work in progress. The class accommodates experienced acrylic or oil painters. Each class will include warm-up exercises before students branch into their own pursuits; then Jernigan will filter through, giving specific guidance to each student. From broader discussions about color theory to in-depth explorations of the concept of “loud” and “quiet” conversations within the same painting, Jernigan will offer continuing students greater understanding of the abstract process.
