Basic Drawing for Young People (ages 9-12)

Instructor: Stephanie Chang

Students are introduced to classical and contemporary notions of drawing. Participants learn the language of two-dimensional space as they explore composition, mark-making, line, light and shade.
Whether it be still-life, landscape, animals or people, this course instructs how to transfer what students see into what they draw with different tools such as pencils, charcoal or pastels. Students need to acquire supplies for this class. Most supplies and supply lists may be obtained at The Art League Store in the Torpedo Factory, room 217. The store hours are 11am – 5pm, 7 days a week. You can reach the store at: 703-548-8127.
