This is the true beginner class! It focuses on the potters’ wheel, covering everything from shaping clay to surface techniques and final glazes. It’s a messy class built for risk taking, laughing, and gaining a foundational understanding for pottery! For beginners only!
Tuition includes 25lbs of clay, studio glazes and all firing of the artwork. Tool kits are available for approximately $20.(suggested for beginning students). More clay is also available for purchase as the need arises.
The Art League Ceramics program boasts large, bright and well equipped studios. We provide open studio time for students to practice and expand their skill set outside of class.
The Ceramics program glaze fires at cone six, both electric oxidation as well as gas reduction. Specialty firings such as Raku are offered in weekend workshop form as well as occasional technique focused classes.
