This class is for students who are familiar with their media and who need time and counsel to bring their ideas to fruition. Any style of painting is welcome as are additional media such as oil pastel or charcoal. Emphasis is on composition, narrative, color, technique, and unity. Class time includes mostly individual help. Students must supply their own photos or still life items. Instruction includes using these items as a launching point for learning what to include or leave out of the composition. Teacher demonstrations are also included.
This class requires supplies. Most supplies and supply lists may be obtained at The Art League Store in the Torpedo Factory, room 217. The store hours are 11am – 5pm Sunday through Thursday and 10am – 5pm Friday and Saturday. The Art League Store’s phone number is 703-548-8127.
