This class is for students who are familiar with their media and who need time and counsel to bring their ideas to fruition. Any style of painting is welcome as are additional media such as oil pastel or charcoal. Emphasis is on composition, narrative, color, technique, and unity. Class time includes mostly individual help with group critiques every other week at the end of class. Students must supply their own photos or still life items. Instruction includes using these items as a launching point for learning what to include or leave out of the composition. Teacher demonstrations are also included. Students need to acquire supplies for this class. A list of recommended supplies must be picked up from the School Store located in room 217 of the Torpedo Factory.
Covid Policy for Students in this Class
As of April 4, 2022, The Art League has lifted its visitor/staff/student Proof-of-Vaccination requirement for in-person class participants. As of April 8th, 2022, given the current spike we’re reinstating mandatory masks for all students, staff and teachers.
Most supplies and supply lists may be obtained at The Art League Store in the Torpedo Factory, room 217. The store hours are 11am – 5pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
