n this course, students will be using red chalk to study the human form through portrait and figure drawing. The first half of the course focuses on portraiture, fusing classical and contemporary techniques as a means to observe, interpret, and represent form. The second half will focus upon navigating the full figure. The instruction will integrate academic fundamentals such as perspective, light, shadow, and volume alongside Celia’s own methods for harnessing both mental and technical flexibility.
