Projects & Advanced Weaving Techniques

Instructor: Marilyn Harrington

Intermediate and Advanced students will concentrate on understanding and weaving the structures used in creating loom controlled laces. Huck, Bronson and Swedish, as well as, some of the hand manipulated laces like Leno, Brooks Bouquet and Spanish Lace are covered. Lessons will emphasize controlling warp and weft tension to create a smooth but precise final product. Some lessons may overlap with the introductory class.

Looms available for rent include 4- to 10-shaft floor looms for $40 or portable 4- to 8-shaft table looms for $30.00.

The fiber studio provides workspaces with an assortment of floor looms, table looms, spinning wheels, dyeing facilities, silk steamer and an extensive fiber library. Open studio is available to Art League members and students for a nominal fee. Our floor loom rental fees include open studio time.
