This class is FULL!
This course is designed for beginners as well as accomplished printmakers. Woodblock printing is a direct and versatile printing process and one of the oldest methods of printing. Using gouges, students learn or improve cutting skills, create personal images and experiment with various types of wood and papers. Prints are hand-pulled by traditional rubbing methods or manual presses. Both black-and-white and color printing are explored. A $40 materials fee is payable to the instructorSupplies: Most supplies are available in the classroom. Other supplies are available in the Art League Store and will be discussed by the instructor at the first class.
Supplies are required for this course. As a service to our students, most supply lists are kept on hand in the Art League Supply Store. The existence of this store gives students the opportunity to obtain supplies in advance and come to class prepared to work. The Art League Supply Store is in studio 217 at the Torpedo Factory Art Center, just around the corner from the Art League School Registration Office.
They are open 7 days a week for your convenience. Due to our large enrollment, we are unable to mail, fax, or read supply lists over the phone. It is the responsibility of the student to acquire their own materials.
Hours: Sunday through Thursday from 11:00am to 5:00pm
Friday and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm
