Basic enameling techniques for beginners are taught every term. Advanced students may work on their own projects with teacher's instruction in specialized techniques including cloisonn and the etching techniques of bassetaille and champlev. There is a $20 lab fee for all enameling classes; this covers the cost of studio consumables and enamels, not metal. The Art League Jewelry and Metals program covers various aspects of designing and creating art jewelry and small metal objects. Each class is suited for beginners, unless noted. The classrooms are fully equipped with an extensive assortment of tools and machines. Personal tools and supplies are discussed during the first class. Basic jewelry tool kits may be rented for home use for the duration of any jewelry class. |
