Expressive Figure Drawing: Contemporary Mixed Media- Audit Only

Instructor: Susan O’Neill
Students may audit this class. Auditing students may watch each session and receive any images or handouts the instructor provides, but will not be able to engage with instructor or receive critiques of their work.
Learn to understand the structure and vitality of a pose. This class will explore the essential stages of capturing a dynamic figure. Understanding these stages will help you move with confidence through the drawing process to gain confidence in your drawing ability. Emphasis will be placed on careful observation, structure, line quality, volume, composition, and technique. Working from a live model, students learn to balance risk-taking and exploration in drawing the human figure and how to respond and manipulate different mixed media materials to arrive at a dynamic and unique solution. Included are discussions of historical and contemporary works of art and instructor demonstrations. Group and private discussions will be held to receive feedback from the instructor.
Model fee is extra.
This online class will be taught through the video-conferencing platform Zoom, and your teacher email to facilitate further communication with you and your classmates.
