This independent study class gives students the opportunity to take a breath and process the technical skills learned in other classes. Students work to develop their artistic style and formulate individual jewelry concepts. There are no requirements for what work should be or what skills must be incorporated in the pieces. Class time is open for discussion of reasons and concepts behind individual projects. This can be practical (e.g. incorporating bevels) or theoretical. Students are encouraged to think about the purpose behind their work. Class reviews rivets, cold connections, and professional finishing techniques. If time allows, class explores special methods of gliding.
