Circular Loom Weaving

Instructor: Tea Okropiridze
Tea Okropiridze

During this two-day workshop, students will learn how to warp and weave on various-sized circular looms which can be hand made from common household items. This can be fun for new weavers as well as experienced fiber artists.

Student can make wall hangings, coasters, mats, cushions, fun embellishments for bags, other accessories or home décor items. Artists are welcome to use their yarn of choice, roving or strips of leftover fabric.

Plain weave, along with twinning, soumak, ray knots, loops and various other techniques are taught.

Students can create these circular looms from cardboard boxes, presentation/foam boards or cardboard cake rounds. Instructions will be covered at the beginning of the class.
