Drawing The Figure in Charcoal

In this workshop, students make two drawings from the live model. They carefully observe such things as gesture, shadow, light, and proportion. The medium of charcoal is used to describe form and categorize value into a system that helps the student readily graduate to painting or inform current painting abilities. Charcoal is an old material that has recently been utilized to make finished drawings and pleasing sketches. Its simplicity and ready availability make it a popular medium scale. It is excellent for creating expressive and quick drawings that capture the essentials. Model fees are extra.
