Impressionistic Watercolor: Loosening Up (online)

Instructor: Peter Ulrich

There is a tendency to “copy the photograph” when painting from photos. This workshop seeks to depart from attempting exact representation of the subject, moving, instead, towards “looser” impressions of objects in the photo source. Some of the special features of watercolor such as wet-into-wet, dry-brush and “negative painting” is utilized to move the artist toward more creativity in rendering a painting. This workshop explores ways to become a more impressionistic painter.

This online class meets on Zoom.
