This 2 day, in-person workshop has been organized around the study of light & shadow effects on human form. Students will work in the medium of silverpoint on a paper that will be prepared in class at the beginning of the first session. A materials list will be provided. Students will explore concepts of form making while interpreting visual information in the pose, reconciling contour and tonality. Through longer poses and within the confines of silverpoint’s famously limited tonality, participants will focus on the linear transformation to mass. Participants should emerge with a more confident sense of how to handle hatch marks. Model fees are extra.
