Pastel Workshop

National award-winning artist, Bryan Jernigan, paints impressionistic pastel landscapes and still life. Each day in this workshop, he demonstrates landscapes and still life arrangements while sharing the secrets of the pastel medium. From choosing the right papers to create your best work, to learning the basics of value, composition and color that apply to all disciplines, a new world of artistic possibilities open up for you. Jernigan shows how to produce loosely expressive, impressionistic works on a small scale, but with techniques that can be translated into larger pieces. For beginners and experienced pastelists alike, learn what tools to use, get practical guidance on developing skies, water, trees, flowers and more, explore framing options, and discover applications to take your art to the next level. If you are looking for a balance between control and expressiveness, color confidence and greater mastery, this workshop allows you to learn by doing to enhance your artistic practice.
