Smalti has been used for hundreds of years to create beautiful artworks. The glass is thick and heavily pigmented lending itself to rich, textural art. Currently produced in different parts of the world, variations of smalti are discussed. Tools and cutting methods are demonstrated. A direct method approach is taken to create a beautiful work. Materials fee of $90 due to the instructor.
