Traveling with your Sketchbook

Online

Zoom classes 12:00am—2:30pm ET, March 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2025

Home assignments each afternoon

This popular workshop teaches students to use drawing, watercolor, collage, and text to record their travel and at-home experiences. Participants learn to use their sketchbook as a personal journal and also make it a work of art! Students practice quick drawing with several fun exercises, “traveling” through their home and neighborhoods with focused assignments, and look through several artists’ sketchbook journals for inspiration and new ideas. Past students said, “This class changed my life!” because it taught them how to travel with more awareness and purpose. All levels of drawing experience are welcome, including beginners.

Student reviews are wonderful.

“Your class helped me get a sense of direction and purpose when traveling. Now that my trip is over, I can look back to places and drawing with fond memories. Thank you!”

“This class really helped me on my recent trip to the Greek islands. I went with a group of watercolorists and my journal was the envy of the group.”

The supply list for this workshop and a kit available for purchase are listed below.
