This course builds on the basic concepts of composition and design fundamentals. Students use a variety of visual concepts to create more inventive, emotionally powerful, cohesive works of art. Representation, depth, transparency, movement, narrative, and color are added to the design equation. Group critiques enrich the class. The instructor has a broad knowledge of drawing materials, but previous experience in your chosen media is required. Acrylics, oil bars, oil and chalk pastels, and abstract artists are welcome. Sorry, no oil paint. Bring your supplies to the first class.
