Grace Lawton

Grace Lawton has worked in clay since 2011 when she fell in love with dirt. She was almost a geology major but decided to channel her love of the earth into art. In 2015, she graduated from the College of Wooster with a BA in studio art. In 2018, she began working at the Art League in the kiln room, and has taught on and off since 2022. She draws inspiration from nature, texture, pattern, and bringing people joy through functional pots. Her work is mostly wheel thrown with some hand built elements.

Grace is currently finishing a masters program in Occupational Therapy and hopes to eventually include clay into her therapy practice. In the meantime she can be found converting others to the ways of clay and befriending as many dogs and cats as possible.
