Drawing the figure in pen and ink revolves around the artist’s feeling for and use of line. This workshop is designed specifically for the purpose of exploring the human figure with quill, reed, and metal pens. Students study responsiveness of line, dragging, friction, flow, and the expressive qualities contained therein. Using natural inks, students learn to hatch the body in either blunt or elegant strokes. A longer pose is utilized to facilitate necessary layering, construction, and description in student work. Model fees are extra.
