“The exhibit is titled ‘Shapes,’ but for me it was all about materials,” wrote juror Laura Roulet about The Art League’s annual sculpture exhibit.

Roulet chose artists who demonstrated a strong command of their materials — clay, felt, steel, wood, bronze, plastic, and other — a sense of design, and something to say. This selection of work by Art League sculptors will be on view one week from today on August 7, with an opening reception to follow on Thursday, August 8 at 6:30 pm. “Shapes” goes up alongside “’Scapes,” our annual landscape exhibit to be juried on Tuesday.

August is always a must-see month at The Art League Gallery! We’ll feature more on these exhibits when they open next Wednesday. Meanwhile, here’s a look at “Shapes” on Flickr.
