Cape Cod Waters: Photographs by Meg Clarke

First Light by Meg Clarke; Photography

Since glaciers formed the outer reaches of Cape Cod tens of thousands of years ago, water has continued to shape and define this narrow land. In this unique place, light, shapes, colors, and patterns shift constantly with the tidal cycle, the time of day, the season, and the weather.

In Cape Cod Waters, photographer Meg Clarke captures a moment composed of those waters and the surrounding landscapes, expressing her vision.

Join us for the closing reception of our May exhibits on Saturday, June 1, from 3:30–5 p.m. in The Art League Gallery.

Doleful Whimsy by Patrick Sargent

Some of the many, many prints in Patrick Sargent’s Doleful Whimsy.

Printmakers Inc. is proud to present Patrick Sargent’s solo exhibition titled Doleful Whimsy. In his printmaking exhibition, Patrick explores ‘doleful whimsy’—where sadness meets playfulness on paper. Through relief prints, cyanotypes, and silkscreens, he captures the delicate balance between melancholy and light-heartedness. Each print invites viewers into a world where tears and laughter coexist, celebrating the beauty found within the complexity of human emotion. It is on view through June 30, with a reception on June 28 from 3–6 p.m.; the Torpedo Art Center, Studio 14, 105 North Union Street, Alexandria, Virginia.

Space Between: Paintings by Anne Marchand

Winding Triptych and Deep Space

Painter Anne Marchand’s Space Between, at Zenith Gallery, delves into the complexities of the human condition, exploring the unseen realms that shape our existence. This exhibition utilizes the power of art to illuminate the spaces between myth and reality, consciousness and subconscious, and intuition and logic. The artworks presented here act as portals, inviting viewers to navigate the intangible spaces that define our experiences. It is on view through June 15, with an artist talk on Saturday, June 1, from 2–4 p.m.; 1429 Iris Street NW, Washington D.C.
