The minimum essential requirements:

Medium Orchid Bamboo

Black Sumi Ink, in bottle

Felt under cloth– this is a special felt with ruled lines meant for calligraphy

For paper I am recommending Daiso Calligraphy Paper.  Everyone should get 2 packages of 100 sheets.

Additional useful item:

Ink stone

Brush rest

Paperweight

For continuing students:

Liner brush for fine calligraphy

Large Flow for large calligraphy

This kit can be shipped for a fee, or picked up at the Art League School Store on the second floor of the Torpedo Factory Art Center. Please let us know in your order notes if you prefer to have the kit shipped or if you prefer to pick it up.
