This advanced class allows students to explore abstraction more deeply. Students work independently, consult with the instruction on approaches to accomplish the work they have in mind and get direct feedback on work in progress. Each class includes warm-up exercises before students branch into their own pursuits; then the instructor filters through, giving specific guidance to each student. From broader discussions about color theory to in-depth explorations of the concept of “loud” and “quiet” conversations within the same painting, the teacher offers continuing students greater understanding of the abstract process.
A list of recommended supplies must be picked up from the School Store located in room 217 of the Torpedo Factory.
