Meet the Juror
Toni-Lee Sangastiano is a multidisciplinary artist whose work examines the carnivalesque through painting, printmaking, paper marbling, sculptural books arts, typography and maker technology. Her interest in this theme began as a child on the boardwalks of the Jersey shore and was later fostered at Fairleigh Dickinson University by Professor Marie Roberts and Artistic Director Dick Zigun of Coney Island’s Sideshows by the Seashore. Toni-Lee is now one of the leading sideshow banner painters in the United States.
She currently lives in Virginia and is an Assistant Professor of the Practice in Studio Art and Digital Media Specialist at Georgetown University.
Artists may enter works made within the past five years. Open exhibits are not limited by theme, medium, process, or content.
Digital Submission Deadline: Tuesday, June 15, 2021 by midnight.
- Artist must be a current exhibiting artist member of The Art League gallery.
- All works must adhere to the Gallery hanging and framing requirements. For 2D artworks, no clip frames are permitted and hanging wire must be attached to the frame, not the backing. 2D artworks must have hanging wire. No saw tooth hangers permitted. Canvases may be gallery wrapped with no visible staples.
- Artists may enter any current work made within 5 years.
- Works are chosen by the selected juror’s curatorial vision and aesthetic.
We expect to notify artists of the results ten days after the deadline.
