Adjunct Faculty Sought for Printmaking, Stone Carving, Clay Modeling — Bethesda, MD
Deadline: August 19 The Washington Waldorf School in Bethesda, MD, seeks “block” instructors for Printmaking and Clay Modeling (grade 10) and Stone Carving (grade 12.) There are two sections each of Printmaking and Clay Modeling, meeting for 15 class sessions Monday mornings 10:00-11:40 and Friday afternoons 1:15-2:50. Call for Entries, International ‘FL3TCH3R Exhibit’ Invites Artists for 2024 Exhibition at ETSU’s Reece Museum — Johnson City, TN
Deadline: August 31 Artists from around the world are invited to participate in the 12th annual “FL3TCH3R Exhibit: Social & Politically Engaged Art” at East Tennessee State University’s Reece Museum. This prestigious international juried exhibition will be held from September 30 to December 6, 2024.

Call for Entries, Transformation and Change National Juried Exhibition — Kensington, MD
Deadline: September 7 This October, Compass Gallery hosts its first National Juried Exhibition. Focused on the theme Transformation and Change, and juried by Lesley Morris, Director of Mansion and Galleries at Strathmore, this exhibition will feature a wide range of interpretations and mediums, from personal growth and societal shifts to environmental changes and technological advancements. Call to Young Artists, The Future Generation 2025 Juried Art Competition — D.C.
Deadline: August 15 Calling all young artists ages 18-25 years old! This competition acknowledges the work of talented, emerging portrait artists. Enter up to three works. Artwork must include human figure and be the artist’s own original design and concept, no digital media. Arts Enrichment Programs for Youth Grant Program — Alexandria, VA
Deadline: August 16 The Alexandria Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities’ Office of the Arts is collaborating with the Recreation Services Division to create Arts Enrichment Program for Youth – Grant Program (AEPY) which is funded by the American Rescue Fund Program for Alexandria. The AEPY is a program to provide funding for nonprofit organizations and teaching artists to develop high quality summer and afterschool arts programs which could be Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math; art, musical performance, culture, both traditional and nontraditional arts; and other creative projects will be in the City’s Recreation Centers. Call for Entries, McLean Community Center Public Art Project – Mural — McLean, VA
Deadline: August 16 McLean Community Center (MCC) is accepting qualifications from artists or artist teams for two public art projects it is commissioning in McLean. The two public art projects are part of the center’s 50th Anniversary celebration, which will take place in 2025. Deadline: August 18 New Visionary Magazine, a publication by Visionary Art Collective, features contemporary artists, exclusive interviews with art world professionals, and valuable art career resources. Based in New York City, Visionary Art Collective aims to uplift artists through magazine features, virtual exhibitions, podcast interviews, and mentorship programs. Call for Applications, MacDowell Fellowship Spring/Summer 2025 —Peterborough, NH
Deadline: September 10 Artists who are creating new original works of art are welcomed to apply for a MacDowell Fellowship. A MacDowell Fellowship (awarded through a competitive application process) consists of a residency up to six weeks and includes a private studio, housing, and meals. Call for Entries, Stitching Together History: 250 Quilts Commemorating the Commonwealth of Virginia — Harrisonburg, VA
Deadline: September 30 This project asks artists to commemorate a person, place, event, thing, or idea from Virginia or West Virginia’s history. Artists are encouraged to think beyond the obvious and well-known aspects of Virginia and explore the history of people and places that have been overlooked. Call for Submissions, Frame + Frequency — Rockville, MD
Deadline: October 4 Frame + Frequency is an ongoing international new media, film, and video art screening series presented by VisArts in Rockville, Maryland (a suburb of Washington, DC). The series highlights artists who explore contemporary visual culture through new media, experimental film, and video and presents an intimate panorama of the variety and breadth of video art in artistic practice today.
