Works on display will feature photographs and life-sized self-portraits by the fifth grade girls who participate in Space of Her Own, a collaboration between The Art League, Alexandria Court Services Unit, and SOHO, Inc. This award-winning program serves at-risk 10-year-old girls, providing an effective solution to enhance Alexandria’s social welfare. The Art League provides visual arts education content for the program.

Nearly 200 girls have successfully completed the SOHO program hosted in part by The Art League, of whom 98% have not become court-involved. Many have continued long-term relationships with their adult mentors and constructive community engagement through SOHO.
