2022 Online Student/ Faculty Show

The Student/Faculty Show is back for 2022. We’ll be accepting submissions and exhibiting works digitally this year. Any students who took classes or workshops between March 2020 and Winter 2022 may submit art they created for their coursework to the show. All eligible works will be accepted. A juror will award memberships and special prizes for a small number of the works submitted. We can’t wait to see what you’ve got!

Meet the Juror

Scott Hutchison

Scott Hutchison is an American figurative artist based in the Arlington Virginia, inside the Washington DC Metro Area. He has over 20 years of combined teaching and professional art experience, much of that time was devoted to teaching painting and drawing at The Art League. He is currently an Associate Professor of Practice in painting and drawing at Georgetown University in Washington DC and has a home studio in Arlington, Virginia.

Scott’s artwork has been featured in a variety of venues regionally and nationally. Most notably, his work was accepted for display in Dover Delaware at Biggs Body 2019 where his piece titled “Vertigo” was acquired by The Biggs Museum of American Art’s permanent collection. In 2021, Scott had a solo exhibition titled Flux at The Fred Schnider Gallery in Arlington VA, and most recently shown in a number of group shows: Mind|Body|Soul at The Smith Center for Healing Arts in Washington DC, Painting the Figure Now at The Zhou B Art Center in Chicago and Inside Out, Outside In at RJD Gallery in Bridgehampton NY.

For Artists

Submissions: Eligible artwork includes pieces created in a class or workshop at The Art League since March 2020. We accept all eligible work for inclusion in the show; judging is only for awards.

Judging: A visiting judge will award prizes. All award winners will receive a free, one-year membership to The Art League Gallery!

Reception: The reception and awards ceremony is online Sunday, July 10th from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. Links will be posted and sent out to participants. Please invite friends and family! RSVP HERE.

Sale: You may list a sale price or mark your work “Not For Sale.” If you list a sale price, you are responsible for bringing your piece directly to The Art League Gallery upon sale. In the event of a sale, The Art League takes a 40% commission (please factor into pricing).

Framing: If your work is for sale, please frame 2-D pieces with screw eyes or D-rings and hanging wire attached to the back.
