Youth Arts Initiative

The Art League’s outreach programming includes creative collaborations and projects with organizations and groups serving vulnerable and at-risk children and young adults from underserved local communities.

Recent Community Projects

The Art League partnered with the USO to provide a creative T-Shirt screening retreat for young cancer patients at the Murtha Cancer Center at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for military personnel and their families.

Tenants and Workers United builds the power of the low-income community of color – primarily immigrants – to create changes that positively impact the quality of all of our lives in Alexandria. The Tenants and Workers United Summer Youth Institute provides cultural opportunities for Alexandria girls and boys ages 12-18. The Art League partnered with TWU to provide visual arts curriculum that aligned with the life lesson plans of the Institute.
