Pandora’s Box is an exhibition requiring artists to create work based on the theme of Pandora’s Box. In Greek mythology, Pandora’s box is the large jar carried by Pandora that contained evils to be unleashed on mankind – ills, toils and sickness – and finally hope. For this exhibition, the artists are invited to submit their own interpretations of Pandora’s Box and how it relates to the times we are living in today. The submitted work must be based on a box form and adhere to the box size parameters of 12 inches. The work can be contained within the box or it can explode from the box, peek outside the box, etc. How it is made and what it is made of is entirely up to the artists.
