Found objects in any form can become something entirely different. The San Francisco Dump has an Artist in Residence Program, which allows each artist to use materials from the dump as long as they produce a show. These artists have wonderful examples of incorporating found objects into art. They show us ways to transform the found object into more then just a highlighted figure. Receiving: Monday April 5th, 6:30 to 8:30pm, Tuesday April 6th, 10am to 12noon. Work must be delivered to gallery in person, no shipped pieces will be accepted. Work must be ready to hang, no clip frames. All frames must be wired for hanging. All work must be for sale.

Entry Fee: Open to all members of The Art League, membership fee if not currently a member plus $3.50 per piece, up to two pieces of original work, only one per artist will be accepted.

Opening Reception: Thursday, April 8th, 6:30 – 8:30 pm (Awards 7:30 pm)

Pick-up of Work: Gallery open Tues., April 6th, 6:30 – 7:30 pm for early pick-up.

Otherwise artists are asked to pick-up work as soon as possible during regular gallery hours, Daily, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, and Sundays, 12:00 noon to 6:00 pm. A $1 per day storage fee will be charged after Tuesday, April 20.

Juror: Jan Baum
After exploring the West Coast for 6 years, Baum traveled back to the East coast to be the current Director of the Metalsmithing and Jewelry Program at Towson University in Baltimore, Md. She is an avid visiting lecturer and teaches workshops across the country. Baum’s work is centered on wearable containers along with ornament and decoration.
