Local Opportunities for Artists — Deadlines Soon!

Three local organizations have issued calls for artists, limited to artists working in the DC metropolitan area. Deadlines for two of them are this Friday.
BlackRock Center for the Arts — Deadline October 28
Entry fee: $35. Open to all artists 18 years and over residing in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Artists who are willing to conduct a lecture or workshop for a BlackRock standard fee will receive special consideration during the selection process. More details here.
Hillyer Art Space — Deadline October 28
Hillyer Art Space is seeking artists to exhibit their works for the years 2012–2013. Artists must be DC metro area residents or international artists, and cannot have had a solo show in the past three years. Submission requirements here.

Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center — Deadline December 2
The Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center invites proposals from artists or art groups to present exhibitions in the Margaret W. and Joseph L. Fisher Art Gallery for the calendar year 2012. Artists must reside in the Northern Virginia/Maryland/District of Columbia Metropolitan area; exhibitions may be solo or group; and works can be in both two- and three- dimensional formats. Proposals must be received by 5:00pm on Friday, December 2, 2011. The first exhibition will debut in February 2012.
