Open Call for Mural Proposal – NY
Deadline: June 18th, 2012, 5pm. Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC), in partnership with the TnT Scrap, seeks proposals for artwork to be installed on a large corrugated metal fence in Greenpoint, Brooklyn near the Newtown Creek at 1200 Manhattan Avenue. The fence’s dimensions are approximately 60 feet wide by 20 feet high. Proposed works should integrate ideas about the community, the beauty of the creek, recycling and/or the importance of maritime industrial usage. Artwork should capture the beauty and uniqueness of an industrial waterway in a creatively and impactfully. Chosen artists/collectives will receive a $5,000 honorarium. “It’s Pastel!” Fourth Annual National Juried Show – NH
Deadline: July 16, 2012. The Pastel Society of New Hampshire announces a call to artists for its annual national juried exhibition, September 15 – October 27, 2012 at Discover Portsmouth Center, Portsmouth, NH. Approach is an exhibition exploring situations of separateness and/or the search for harmony as a theme in performance art. Works proposed and submitted to this show will focus on engagement with self, the audience and/or the surrounding environment and will exist within the genre of performance art, or video or photographic documentation of performative actions/works. 25th Annual Sculpture Garden Exhibition – NJ
Deadline: June 15, 2012. Celebrating 25 Years! Be a part of Burlington County College Sculpture Garden’s 25th Anniversary Exhibition, September 2012 through August 2013 in Pemberton, NJ. Sculptures exhibited in the Sculpture Garden are selected through an annual open competition and application process. Artists eighteen years old and older are eligible to apply. Shows are installed in August and remain in place for one year. Sculptures must be free-standing and able to withstand changing weather conditions. There is a $10.00 entry fee per piece submitted, and artists may submit up to three (3) pieces for consideration. Deadline: August 15, 12. Worldview ~ A National Juried Exhibition of fine art presenting perspectives that define all aspects of life, nature and the universe. Gallery 180 of The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. An exhibition of fine art presenting perspectives that define all aspects of life, nature and the universe. Commissions generated from sales will benefit Worldview Education & Care. The exhibition will be selected by Chuck Gniech, Curator for Gallery 180 of The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. The results of the process will be mailed by September 30, 2012. The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago will purchase at least one piece from the exhibition, for inclusion into the school’s Permanent Collection. The collection is diverse and can be viewed on site or online at: gallery180.com. The Purchase Award/s will be selected by committee and will be announced at the opening reception. Deadline: July 8, 2012. Sustaining / Creating: A national juried exhibition of emerging artists, ages 16-25, with disabilities. Sustaining / Creating asks emerging artists to showcase work that illuminates innovative viewpoints on sustainability and contemporary creativity. Beyond its scientific definition, sustainability references notions of responsibility and stewardship of our natural world in all facets of human interaction–from the environmental to the cultural. DeLuce Clay National: A NATIONAL JURIED CERAMICS EXHIBITION – MO
Deadline: August 3, 12. October 1st—November 2nd, 2012. This year’s “DeLuce Clay National” will display a broad range of approaches to the use of clay and ceramics as an expressive medium. Mobile Works: Workhouse Arts Center – VA
Deadline: September 13, 12. Photography has been able to adapt to today’s current lifestyle better than any other art form. Mobile Works exhibition will showcase the diversity of on the go photography, specifically cell phone photography. All submissions must be taken with a cell phone and edited only with a cell phone. The juror for this exhibition is Keith Lane is a freelance photographer and multimedia producer currently based in Washington, DC. He began his photography career in Southeast Asia. Keith is an alumnus of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine and holds an M.S. in Environmental Education with a focus on international policy and advocacy from Lesley University. New Country: Ruralism in Contemporary Art – KY

New Country: Ruralism in Contemporary Art is an exhibition featuring works of all media that reference and/or are inspired by current or historical ideas of rural life and the pastoral in American culture. Industria Studios is inviting artists to participate in a juried exhibition entitled “Miscommunication and the Human Condition.” Submitted artwork may be any medium, but it must have relevance to the exhibition title. Drink This! The Workhouse International Ceramic Cup Show – VA
Deadline: November 8, 12. Drink This! will showcase ceramic drinking vessels by contemporary artists around the globe. The focus of the exhibit is on the variety of ways artists explore the cup, in functional, sculptural, traditional and non-traditional forms. Juror – Linda Arbuckle. Linda Arbuckle is a professor of Ceramics at the University of Florida, Gainesville. She is recognized as one of the preeminent makers of contemporary majolica ware, and has exhibited and lectured around the world. Ms Arbuckle is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, Geneva, Switzerland, and in 2011 received the Honors Award for Service to the Field by the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts. Among her many recognitions is the National Endowment for the Arts Visual Arts Fellowship.
