Plein Air Event
The Workhouse Artists of Gallery 902 are hosting a plein air painting event Saturday, April 27, with awards and prizes. Participants will paint at the Workhouse Arts Center & Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton, VA during SpringFest Fairfax 2013. For details, download a Word document here.
18″ x 18″ at artdc Gallery
Artists are invited to submit art limited to 18 x 18 inches for this all-inclusive show at the artdc in Hyattsville, MD. Installation is Sunday, April 28. For details and to register, click here.

Cyber In Securities
Deadline: May 10, 2013. This exhibit, organized by Washington Project for the Arts and curated by Lisa Moren, explores data collection and imaging surveillance practices in the United States, highlighting artists whose work makes visible experiences of tracking and being tracked in a digital age. The call is open to projects in any media, including but not limited to installation, video, screen and web-based work, relational and performance work, interactive projects, and work in traditional media. 26th Annual Northern National Art Competition

VCCA residencies
Deadline: May 15, 2013. The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts is a year-round community that provides a supportive environment for superior national and international visual artists, writers and composers of all economic and cultural backgrounds to pursue their creative work without distraction in a pastoral residential setting.
