Quick Draw contest
Saturday, June 22, 8:00 am–1:00 pm (register by Thursday, June 20). Part of the Easels in Frederick plein air painting event, Quick Draw is a fast-paced, friendly plein-air contest open to all artists aged 16 and older—professional or amateur—who register and pay a $15 fee. Participating artists may use any two-dimensional medium. Artists are eligible for cash prizes and can sell their artwork to spectators. For more information and to register, click here.

“Shapes” at The Art League
Deadline: July 12, 2013. This annual sculpture exhibit at The Art League is digital entry only. For more information and to download the entry form, click here.

Bethesda gallery
Deadline: July 19, 2013. The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District and Bethesda Urban Partnership are accepting applications for Gallery B in downtown Bethesda! This gallery, located at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite E in downtown Bethesda, is available to interested artists and arts organizations for one-month rentals. All media including, but not limited to, painting, photography and sculpture is eligible to use the space. Gallery B does not take a commission on any artwork sold during the exhibition. They are seeking applications from local artists and arts organizations for month-long exhibitions in 2014.  There is approximately 1,500 sq. feet of available exhibition space. Howard County artists
Deadline: August 30, 2013. Artists who live, work, or study in Howard County, Maryland are invited to apply for “Art HoCo 2013,” a biennial, juried exhibit. Deadline for entries is August 30; exhibit runs from November 1–December 13. For more information and to enter, click here (PDF).
