Shapes at The Art League

Maryland sculptors
Deadline: July 26, 2013. Maryland residents 18 years and older may apply for the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards in the category Visual Arts: Sculpture. Grant recipients are selected through an anonymous, competitive process. For more information and to apply, click here.
2014 Smithsonian Craft Show
Deadline: September 15, 2013. The annual Smithsonian Craft Show is a juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American crafts. Acceptable media categories: basketry, ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and wood. The 2014 show will be April 10–13 at the National Building Museum. For more information and to apply, click here.
Art studios are available in an old brick warehouse about 2.5 miles from the Torpedo Factory (near the intersection of Duke Street and South Quaker Lane). Free onsite parking and 24/7 access. Each artist has a key to the building’s main entrance and a studio key. Each studio has full spectrum lighting with a color temperature that matches sunlight. There are 9 studios in the building, ranging in size from 197 to 1,064 square feet. There is also a larger industrial space available for a commercial artist or group of artists.
