Landscapes
Deadline: July 17, 2013. On September 2, Capitol Arts Network will open “The Land”, a juried gallery exhibition featuring landscapes and plein air painting of the mid-Atlantic region. This area is home to amazing ecological diversity that is celebrated and captured by talented artists who recognize beauty when they see it. Photography, painting, and mixed media will be considered. Artomatic@Frederick
Deadline: Until spaces are filled. Registration opened Monday morning for Artomatic’s Frederick, MD offshoot, taking place in September. The registration fee for this uncurated, unjuried, month-long event is $100. For more information and to register, click here.

Crafty Bastards
Deadline: July 28, 2013. Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair will be held Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 10:00 am–5:00 pm, in Union Market in Northeast DC. For more information and to apply to be a vendor, click here.

Mini-Solo Shows
Deadline: August 17, 2013. Washington Printmakers Gallery is seeking US resident artists (age 18 and over) who create hand-pulled prints, handmade paper, and/or book arts who are interested in submitted proposals for month-long exhibitions in the “Press Room” for the 2014 season. At least three-quarters of work to be exhibited must relate to the categories listed above. Shows may be solo or group exhibitions. For more information and to enter, click here.

WPA Members Works on Paper
Deadline: September 2, 2013. Washington Project for the Arts is pleased to announce a call for 8″ x 8″ works on paper by WPA Member Artists to be on view and for sale as part of WPA’s Hothouse series during the (e)merge art fair. Work will be exhibited in the Capitol Skyline Hotel Lounge from September 27 – October 27, 2013. All current WPA members are invited to submit one 8″ x 8″ work on paper. (WPA membership is $45 per year.) Work submitted MUST be 8″ x  8″ and must be delivered without a mat or frame. If a member artist wishes to submit a work that is smaller than 8″ x 8″, it must be submitted mounted to an 8″ x 8″ sheet of paper. For more information and to register, click here.
