’Scapes and Shapes
August 7–September 2, 2013
Opening reception: Thursday, August 8, 6:30–8:00 pm
Our big annual August exhibits are now open, and this year, our artists delivered again. Look at this image gallery to see for yourself:

The juror for the sculpture exhibit “Shapes,” Laura Roulet, selected a wide variety of work both in traditional media like terra cotta and marble, and materials pointing in a new direction, like recycled plastic materials. In “’Scapes,” Elizabeth Klimek juried the huge number of pieces entered, selecting an exhibit with a mix of representational and non-representational “’scapes” including paintings, photographs, prints, and even some sculpture. (You can read each of their juror’s statements on the linked exhibit pages.)
As always, these exhibits really need to be seen in person. Join us at the opening reception tomorrow — Thursday, August 8 at 6:30 pm — to meet the artists, enjoy the artwork, and have refreshments. “Shapes” and “’Scapes” are both open through Monday, September 2.
P.S. For those of you wondering about the conclusion to yesterday’s post: You’ll have to wait a little longer to see George’s first photo in an exhibit. But don’t worry, this was just a first try! Look for a future post with George’s reflections on entering his first show.
