Sugarloaf Craft Festivals
The Sugarloaf Craft Festivals provide fine artists and contemporary craftspeople with popular and established markets where they can sell their work to appreciative patrons. There are eleven Sugarloaf shows annually in MD, VA, PA, and NJ. Jurying begins August 29 and continues until full. More about the festivals →
The Panda Project
Deadline: September 2. The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities is pleased to join with the DC Office of Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs to invite local artists or artistic teams to provide two- dimensional design proposals for a pre-fabricated panda sculpture. More about the Panda Project →

Portrait competition
Deadline: November 30, 2014. Entry is open for the 2016 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition at the National Portrait Gallery. The work entered should be understood as a portrait in the broadest sense. It may be a traditional, representational work or it may be a more experimental or conceptual portrait, but it must be based on the artist’s direct contact with any living individual(s). Self-portraits will be accepted. Each artist may enter only one portrait, and it must have been completed after January 1, 2013. Entries will be accepted in all visual arts media. Exhibit in Alexandria
