Abstract Painting (Oil or Acrylic)

This class develops students’ painting skills through the self-expression of color and form. Students use color concepts from Post-Impressionism to Action Painting. The motifs of landscape, figure, and still life are examined along with the classic compositional elements of line, balance, and contrast. For novice and experienced painters, students discover the different levels of abstract – from semi-abstract to non-representational. Students respond to color and emotion and document it in class. Knowledge of acrylics or oils is a prerequisite. Students need to acquire supplies for this class.

A list of recommended supplies is only accessible by in person pick up from the School Store located in room 217 of the Torpedo Factory.
