Surface Design with Emphasis on Handbuilding

Find exciting alternatives to dipping, pouring and brushing glazes. Explore image transfer, decals, monoprint, varied brushwork, patinas, embossing, sgraffito, stamping, oxide wash, wax and lacquer resists, slips, mason stains, china painting, stencils, faux glazes and more. This course is handbuilding focused, a full variety of techniques will be presented, but applicable to all manner of construction.
Appropriate for all skill levels.

The Art League Ceramics program boasts large, bright and well equipped studios. We provide open studio time for students to practice and expand their skill set outside of class.

The Ceramics program glaze fires at cone six, both electric oxidation as well as gas reduction. Specialty firings such as Raku are offered in weekend workshop form as well as occasional technique focused classes.
