This workshop focuses on reflections on pavement to express the feeling of a wet surface and a
rainy day. To express this in paint, participants will sketch with thin paint and then begin to fill
in the image using brushes and palette knives. Dynamic color and dynamic paint application is
another feature of the artwork to be created. Working from printed reference, participants will
sketch and paint a rainy night scene with neon lights as the subject. Using various tools –
brushes, palette knives, sponges and rags – a dynamic and expressive painting will result.
Some painting experience is helpful.
