Black and White – Call to Artists

Black and White
July 2009 Membership Show
Juror: Catriona Fraser
July 8 – August 3, 2009

Black and white is not limited to works that are only black and white in color. Work can be in all shades of black and white and should use the positive and negative spatial tension between black and white and their shades. If color is used, it should be used in service to the metaphorical idea of black and white or the literal use of the colors of black and white. Works with color can also address the concept of black and white – socially and culturally, for example, issues about race, polarization in our culture and the push-pull of political issues, but the color must be in service to your concept. Work can be in any medium. Two-dimensional works must follow the hanging guidelines of The Art League.

Receiving:
Monday, July 6, 6:30-8:30pm
Tuesday, July 7, 10:00am – 12:00 Noon

Award: Kirsten Award, $150
