January 2024 Still Life Exhibit
Still life artwork showcases inanimate objects, from fruits to flowers, bottles to bones—and everything in between! Our January 2024 Still Life Exhibit, juried by artist Jorge Alberto González, includes 99 works in varied mediums both realistic and abstract. It is on view through January 28.

Taj Poscé: Between Sunbeams
In Between Sunbeams, at Black Rock Center for the Arts, artist Taj Poscé composes with archival research ephemera, construction materials, studio-based materials, and fire. Using iconographic motifs, he loads his paintings with emotion, spirit and imagination that reconstruct and reclaim Black histories, culture, and experiences. Mrinal Joshi: Watching Ships Drift into the Blue Abyss from Under a Rock
Embark on a visual odyssey through Mrinal Joshi’s exhibition Watching Ships Drift into the Blue Abyss from Under a Rock at Foundry Gallery. This new collection of work weaves a tapestry of a sublime experience and human connections through the thread of a Greek myth. It is on view through January 28; 2118 8th Street, NW, Washington, D.C.
Winter
Art League member Van Pulley is among the fine art photographers whose works are on view in Winter at Multiple Exposures Gallery. The exhibition features 24 images that reflect the beauty and complexities of winter, and was juried by Tim Anderson, publisher and editor of acclaimed photography magazine Shadow & Light. It is on view through January 28; Torpedo Factory Art Center, 105 N. Union Street, Alexandria, Virginia.
Visions of Resilience: Art for Climate Justice
Visions of Resilience: Art for Climate Justice, curated by Art League member Camille Kouyoumdjian, explores the emotionally resonant power of art to inspire and raise awareness about climate change and its impact on marginalized communities. Art holds the power to portray what words so often miss. This exhibit conveys environmental issues through the universal languages of image and feeling with the goal of encouraging action towards a just, climate-friendly future. It is on view at Del Ray Artisans Galley through January 27. Join Del Ray Artisans for EcoArt: Collage Landscapes for Climate Awareness Workshop, a crafting activity to raise climate awareness, Saturday, January 13, 10am-12pm; 2704 Mount Vernon Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia.
