Dye Soup: A study in how one dye affects many fibers

De Mar

One dye, one dyepot, many fibers! There are so many dyes on the market these days…..how can you know the right one to choose? This workshop will explore how different fibers and structures react to a single dye in one dyepot. In addition to wool and cotton, we’ll add silk, synthetic, linen, and anything else that you can think of to the pot. Raw fibers for spinning, yarns, woven cloth, knits, crocheted items (and more if we can find them), will be tossed into the pot for a comparison of how the same dye takes up with each variable. Dyes are included.
No materials fee, but bring small samples of various fibers to toss into the pot.
